Vineyard and Wine Museum
The ancient cellars of Château Moncontour are home to a real treasure!
Come and discover a unique collection of tools and objects associated with our heritage, vineyard culture and wine making. Pruning knives, ploughs, barrel toasters, camphor stone, crushing and pressing machines... the world of vineyards and wine will reveal all of its mysteries!
Almost 3,000 carefully preserved and lovingly collected items are on display, and are presented in educational and interesting way in a troglodyte cave. In this place steeped in history, you will learn about the changes in how the land has been farmed over the last decades, and enhance your knowledge of the terroir in the Vouvray Appellation Contrôlée throughout the vineyards of the Loire Valley.
Visits are free and no appointment is required:
January to March:

Saturday 10am to 12pm
April to mid-September:
Monday to Friday, 10am to 11.30am - 1.30pm to 6pm
Saturday, Sunday 10am to 11.30am - 2.30pm to 6pm
Mid-September to December:
Monday to Friday, 10am to 11.30am - 1.30pm to 5pm
Saturday 10am to 11.30am and 2.30pm to 5pm
Guided tours are available for groups and school trips on reservation.
